This series centers on the amazing landscaping features outside of the palace of Versailles. JB has always enjoyed depicting, romanticizing, and glorifying the beauty of statuary. Most of her European landscapes lean strongly on other artist’s achievements, whether it be beauty of the Byzantine architectural detailing in her Venetian cityscapes, elaborate tile work in her Portugal series or garden statuary. So, it’s no wonder that she concentrated on the beautiful genius of the palace’s fountains and statuary. She also added unique painted borders to each image. This was a way to combine the opulence of the palace interiors with its exteriors.
