Versailles
This series of garden scenes was sparked by the artist’s first visit to the famed French landmark. However, it was not until years later that she figured out how she wanted to tackle the subject. She wanted to concentrate on the Palace gardens so on her second visit she took over a hundred photographs to use as source material. The elaborate trim around each painting was done in oil texturing techniques with added gold leaf. This was done as a reference to the opulence of the inside of the palace, thus, combining the inside and the outside on one canvas. This entire collection is in her book, “Painted Poetry.”
